AREAS OF USE
FLOOR PREP is used for cleaning interior or exterior surfaces (including facades) of staining caused by cement, lime, efflorescences, dirt and oil.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
- Cleaning traces of cement from the surfaces of ceramic tiles and mosaics on walls and floors.
- Cleaning off residue of cement-based products used as adhesives and grout off all surfaces.
- Cleaning efflorescences of lime, salpetre etc. on ceramic surfaces and joints between tiles, concretes, plaster etc.
- Cleaning dirt that has accumulated on building materials on the construction site, such as ceramic tiles, sinks and tubs, anodised aluminium, stainless steel, chrome work etc.
- Clean off slight rust strains.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
FLOOR PREP is an acid cleaner available as a liquid in a water solution for easier handling in ordinary cases.
FLOOR PREP is based on special organic acid, the advantage of which is that it is as aggressive to stains and efflorescences as much stronger acids (muriatic, hydrochloric, sulphuric etc.) but does not, unlike these, develop highly dangerous toxic fumes. Correctly used, FLOOR PREP does not damage joints between ceramic tiles, even those grouted with coloured grout. On the contrary, it removes the efflorescences that sometimes form on their surfaces.
UNSUITABILITY.
- Never use FLOOR PREP on marble or other calcareous stone.
- Do not use FLOOR PREP on ceramic tile or surfaces where glaze is not acid resistant.
- When working with FLOOR PREP wear rubber gloves and goggles, avoiding splashing the product on the skin and clothes.
METHOD OF APPLICATION:
Before cleaning with FLOOR PREP protect everything that can be damaged by splashing.
Surfaces that are highly absorbent (cotto toscano, porous ceramic tiles, concrete, plaster etc.) must be well wetted with water before any treatment begins.
PACKAGING:
FLOOR PREP is supplied in:
20 litre Plastic Pail
10 litre Plastic Pail
5 litre Plastic Bottle
1 litre Plastic Bottle
APPLYING THE MIX
Apply FLOOR PREP liquid with a mop or brush, working in strips. Let the product act for about 5 minutes, scrub with a wet brush or abrasive sponge (medium-grain SCOTCHBRITE) to remove any crusting that still remains and continue scrubbing until all visible stains have disappeared. Repeat the operation for very persistent crusts or stains. Remove the liquid from the floor with a sponge or rubber rake or with an industrial vacuum cleaner and then rinse thoroughly and repeatedly with water, brushing in all directions and drying with a cloth. In general FLOOR PREP can also be used for periodically cleaning off ordinary dirt, but it should be borne in mind that it only cleans superficial oil stains.
IMPORTANT:
Always wear rubber gloves and boots, as well as protective goggles. Avoid splashing the product on the skin and clothes. Should this happen, wash with water and soap. In
more serious cases, a doctor should be called. The product should be kept in closed containers and out of the reach of children. Should the product be ingested, one or two spoonfuls of milk of magnesia or bicarbonate of soda should be taken and a doctor called immediately.
