* High Adhesion * Colour Fast * Flush Joints * High Flexibility
Description
Polished Porcelain Grout is specifically formulated for use with bevel edged tiles. Morgan Ceramic Tile Adhesives is the first Australian adhesive company to produce a grout specifically for polished porcelain tiles. This grout is colour fast, strong with excellent adhesion and added flexibility that can finish flush with the top edge of porcelain tiles.

Precautions
Laying porcelain is not the same as conventional tiles. Ensure the tradesman is qualified in this field and all necessary precautions are carried out in laying the tiles and applying the special grout. Special care should be taken when using tiles with rough or open pored surfaces. If Polished Porcelain Grout is allowed to set on these it becomes very difficult to remove. A coat of Penetrating Seal before grouting commences will aid clean-up. On warm or windy days correct hydration of Polished Porcelain Grout should be monitored, keeping the joints damp with clean water after the initial hardening has begun.
Preparing the Joints
Before filling, the joints must be cleaned from the top to the bottom of the tile side. If the tiling has been laid with adhesive, grouting may be carried out after the adhesive has set (not less than 6 hours). With conventional thick bed mortar, it is advisable to wait 2-3 days for walls and 7-8 days for floors. (Too much moisture can cause irregular grout colour.)
Mixing Polished Porcelain Grout
Polished Porcelain Grout should be mixed with clean water at an approximate ratio of 5kg of powder to 1.5ltrs of water. Pour the Grout into a clean bucket containing the water and mix until it is a smooth lump free paste. Leave mix to slacken for 2-3 minutes, re-stir and the product is ready to use.
DO NOT use excessive amounts of water when mixing, as this can cause irregular colour and weaken the grout.
DO NOT use an electric drill above 300 rpm as this can entrap air into the mix causing grout to dry soft and powdery or with unsightly pin holes in the surface.
Pot Life
Polished Porcelain Grout has a pot life of approximately 2 hours at 20oC and 50% relative humidity.
Application
Working in small areas at a time, completely fill the joint with Polished Porcelain Grout. With the aid of a smooth rubber squeegee or a firm rubber float, compact the grout firmly into the joints. After filling, cover the joints with dry Polished Porcelain Grout, which will be absorbed by the joint mix. Float with a minimal amount of water if necessary and re-finish the installation until the joints are flush with the tiles.
Cleaning
Ensure the surface is cleaned as work progresses. A proper grouting system should be used, such as a Rubi 20915. (Refer to Morgan Adhesives) If cleaning is carried out too early, (when the paste is still plastic) the joints may be partially emptied. Use a damp sponge with small pore structure to clean up the tile surface and smooth the joints. Rinse the sponge frequently. It is very important to use a minimum amount of water, as overworking the joints can cause water float and or shade variation. When the grout has sufficiently hardened in the joints, polish the surface with a clean dry cloth.
Damp Cure
All grouts should be damp cured for 48 hours. Refer Australian Standards AS 3958 Part 1 Section 5.7.3.
Coverage
Coverage is approximate only and will vary according to the size of the tile and width of the grout joint. As a guide, 10kg of Polished Porcelain Grout will cover approximately 70 square metres.
