Description
Aquapoxy is a three component acid resistant grouting compound for use with ceramic tiles. It is suitable for both wall and floor tiles and is easily cleaned up with water. It hardens without shrinkage to become an exceptionally adhesive compound both mechanically and chemically resistant.

Precautions
Aquapoxy cannot be used for flexible expansion joints or joints subject to movement. It is not recommended for use with unglazed natural stone products. Special care should be taken when using tiles with rough or open pored surfaces. If Aquapoxy is allowed to set on these, it becomes very difficult to remove. Aquapoxy is not affected by the humidity of the surface, however, the joints should be thoroughly dry before application.
Preparing the Joints
Before filling, the joints must be cleaned from the top to the bottom of the tile side. If the tiling has been paid with adhesive, grouting may be carried out after the adhesive has set (not less than 6 hours). When using conventional thick bed mortar, it is advisable to wait 2-3 days for walls and 7-8 days for floors. (Too much moisture can cause irregular grout colour.)
Mixing Aquapoxy
Pour Part A into a bucket, add Part B the hardener, then add the powder. Mix well until it becomes a smooth paste. The quantities are already in the correct proportions so there is no need for messy measuring and no mistakes can be made.
Note: Part 1 has the colour tint and should be thoroughly mixed before adding Part 2 of the powder to ensure proper colour uniformity.
Pot Life
Once mixed, Aquapoxy has a pot life of approximately 2-3 hours at 20°C and 50% relative humidity.
Application
Aquapoxy can be applied to the joints with a flexible metal or a hard rubber trowel. In large scale work it can be injected into a caulking gun that can be loaded directly from the mixing container. Working in small areas at a time, completely fill the joint with Aquapoxy. With the aid of a smooth rubber squeegee or a firm rubber float, compact the grout firmly into the joints.
Cleaning
Ensure the surface is cleaned as work progresses. A proper grouting system should be used, such as a Rubi 20915. (Refer to Morgan Adhesives) If cleaning is carried out too early, (when the paste is still plastic) the joints may be partially emptied. Use a damp sponge with small pore structure to clean up the tile surface and smooth the joints. Rinse the sponge frequently. It is very important to use a minimum amount of water, as overworking the joints can cause water float and or shade variation. When the grout has sufficiently hardened in the joints, polish the surface with a clear dry cloth.
Warning: Aquapoxy can be very difficult to remove when it has completely hardened. Using Epoxy Wash will soften grout making it easier to remove. Mechanical cleaning is not recommended, as this will very likely damage the surface of the tiles.
Dry Time
Ambient temperature greatly affects the time Aquapoxy takes to cure. At 20°C (the optimal working temperature) the paste is soft and it can be trowelled for about 2.5 hours, after which hardening sets in. The surface is ready for traffic after 24 hours.
Coverage
Coverage is approximate only and will vary according to the size of the tile and width of the grout joint. As a guide, 12kg of Aquapoxy will cover approximately 12 square metres.
